Ford have come up with an inventive new design feature, the Megabox and the new Ford Puma delivers best-in-class 465-litre uncompromised rear load space and innovative stowage solutions designed to offer practical solutions to everyday storage problems.
The Megabox is 80L (when combined with the mHEV) of previously unused space, located underneath the boot floor, which with its synthetic lining and drain plug in the bottom, makes it easy to clean with water. It was developed to meet and exceed customer requirements for practical luggage space, providing a deep, versatile storage space that is capable of comfortably accommodating two golf bags in an upright position and much much more.
The New Ford Puma has a range of innovative features designed to improve your driving pleasure, as well as help keep your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road. A Mild Hybrid Vehicle, a vehicle that is powered by both a normal combustion engine and a small electrical motor that helps improve efficiency. The electric motor is merely there to assist the combustion engine, not power the entire vehicle and therefore cannot drive on electric energy alone. The MHEV electric motors can be recharged in one of two ways: through regenerative braking or through the conventional engine.
You do not need to charge a MHEV, the 48V Li-ion battery is automatically recharged by regenerative braking during coasting and braking. There is no requirement to connect the battery to a power source.
As with MHEV, HEV have an internal combustion engine, but they also have a larger battery and more powerful motor. This provides more assistance to the engine and enables the vehicle to drive parts of short journeys at low speeds using the electric motor alone. Thanks to the conventional engine, this can help improve driving range. This is because the vehicle is capable of using both battery and the internal combustion engine.
