1-LITRE PUMA ST POWERSHIFT ANNOUNCED BY FORD

Ford have recently announced an entry-level automatic Puma to the performance lineup, the Puma ST Powershift, a vehicle which will be accessible for even more drivers.

Unlike the current Puma ST, the powershift arrives with a smaller 1-litre EcoBoost engine, making it the most powerful version yet with the added 48-volt mild hybrid technology for 170 PS power and improved fuel effiency, while also featuring paddle shifters behind the steering wheel so drivers can take control when they want.

“The combination of a downsized engine and electrified technology helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions while providing accessible, everyday performance. Together with the recalibrated Powershift transmission, this package delivers smart performance and emotional ST fun-to-drive,” said Ford Performance Europe boss Stefan Muenzinger.

Based on the regular Puma ST, the ST Powershift will have the same active exhause, 11.4:1 steering ratio and 325mm front brake discs. The car will also have the same driving-mode selection, and like the other mild-hybrid engine, will have no option for electic only driving.

Lookswise, the car will be almost the same as the standard Puma ST, featuring the deep front bumper, ST-specific grille and red badging. The Puma ST Powershift introduces a new ST-exclusive Azura Blue signature colour among six exterior paint options. In the UK, we've seen this colour on two previous ST editions, in 2020 on the Fiesta and more recently in 2022 on the Focus.

Sitting on 19inch alloy wheels with a fantastic standard varitation of spec including Recaro Sports Seats, Wireless Charging Pad, Heated Seats & Steering wheel plus a number of other features which on other models would not be included.
