Ford Puma Motability
What is Motability? The Motability Scheme is a government-backed initiative that has been running since the 1970s. It enables those in receipt of selected government mobility allowances to exchange this benefit for the lease on a brand-new car from the likes of Ford. It also includes a number of additional extras at no extra charge, with road tax and comprehensive insurance among the benefits that are available.

What is Personal Independence Payment (PIP)?

Close X

Personal Independence Payment is gradually replacing the Disability Living Allowance for those individuals with a disability. Similar to DLA, it has a daily living component and a mobility component, each with two rates of pay - standard and enhanced rate. Your PIP allowance is the same value as DLA and can be used to lease a new car via the Motability Scheme.

If I'm over 65, can I still join the Motability Scheme?

Close X

Yes. There is no age limit to the scheme as long as you are in receipt of the relevant benefit and have more than 12 months’ award remaining

What is the Higher Rate Mobility Component?

Close X

This is an allowance that is provided by the Department for Work and Pensions worth £62.55 per week. It can be exchanged for the lease on a brand new car as part of the Motability Scheme.

Can someone else drive for me?

Close X

The Motability Scheme enables you to name up to three drivers as part of the agreement - two at the time of ordering and an additional driver by calling RSA Motability. Note, however, that the vehicle should only be used by, or for the benefit of, the individual with the disability.

Does it matter if a driver has points on their licence?

Close X

Any endorsements should be disclosed at the time of the application as failing to do so may be considered a breach of the terms and conditions.

Can I learn to drive in my Motability car?

Close X

Yes. In fact, you may even be able to secure additional financial help towards the cost of learning to drive. Speak to us today for more details.

I have a number of carers. Can they all drive the car?

Close X

The number of named drivers that can be added to your policy is currently three. However, if you need multiple drivers to be included, an Open Policy from RSA Motability may be available. Please contact us to discuss in full.
